About Pete Stewart
I first tried diving in Belize in 1982, but family and work commitments prevented me going further. I finally passed my open water in Egypt in March 06 with little ambition to do anything other than enjoy some diving on holidays.
Following my Open Water Course I went to Gildenburgh Water to do my Advanced Open Water Course and joined in on a couple of trips to Portland. With ongoing encouragement from all the staff I have progressed through the PADI continuing education program and qualified as an IDC Staff Instructor in March 2010.
My greatest pleasure whilst teaching is helping someone who is struggling overcome an issue and go on to achieve their goal, especially kids.
I enjoy diving everywhere and organise regular trips to Egypt, as well as UK trips to the Farne Islands and St Abbs, and other great UK locations. I can usually be found at Gildy all year round, regardless of weather, either teaching or pleasure diving.
