Let our Dive In video instructor, Jane, present this page to you in the video below…
Once you qualify as a PADI Instructor, the next rung in the professional ladder is Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT). To become an MSDT, you need to have qualified as a Speciality Instructor in at least 5 areas and have certified 25 students.
PADI Instructor Specialities can be added onto an IDC program. But since most IDC candidates just choose to focus on their IDC itself, we schedule Instructor Specialities on separate later dates.
You should aim to get your instructor speciality ratings in courses that keep you interested and will benefit students in your local diving area. Divers can improve their diving techniques and increase their overall experience by taking speciality courses. They can take specialities after their Open Water course, and some speciality dives can even be combined with the final dive of their Open Water course.
