Staff Instructor

This course will provide PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers with additional training necessary to staff PADI Instructor Development Courses. You will build on your experience and abilities as a dive educator and focus on developing your evaluation and counselling skills.

Staff Instructors can independently train and certify PADI Assistant Instructors. They can also assist on PADI Instructor Development Courses and instructor -level continuing education programmes.

Goals of programme

To familiarise you with:

  • PADI Instructor Development standards, curriculum, and procedures.
  • PADI Assistant Instructor course standards, curriculum and certification procedures.

To develop your

  • evaluation skills to an effective and consistent level.
  • counseling and critique skills to an effective level.
  • Presentation skills further to a role-model level.

To prepare you

  • for staffing PADI Instructor Development programs.

Pre-requisites

  • Be renewed and in Teaching status as a PADI Instructor for the current year.
  • Hold a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating.
  • Agree to conduct all levels of diver training consistent with the standards and philosophy outlined in the PADI Instructor Manual.
  • Agree to use the PADI System and components in its entirety
