In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your PADI Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool or pool-like conditions and progress to the open water (ocean, lake, quarry, etc.) getting the background knowledge along the way.
At your own pace, you can complete the knowledge development portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course online with PADI eLearning.

And, as you continue your adventure and gain experience through higher training levels, your opportunities expand.
- Number of Dives: Five Confined Water Dives and Four Open Water Dives
- Knowledge Development: Five sessions
- Prerequisites: 10 for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 for Open Water Diver.
- Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.
- Materials You’ll Need: PADI Open Water Crew-Pak (included in course fees).
- Equipment you’ll use during the course includes: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy compensator, submersible pressure gauge and exposure protection as required by the local environment.

- 2 weekends - from Friday evening to Sunday. Weekend one for the confined water training and theory, and weekend two for the open water qualifying dives. (the weekends need not be consecutive)
- 5-day intensive programme, from Friday evening to Tuesday
- Our famous 3 Steps to Open Water Diver, which is ideal for those of you who are not firmly decided on the full course, or who prefer to spread payments out.

Both the 3 Steps to Open Water Diver and the Extended Schedule start off with an Introduction to Scuba session, which makes an ideal birthday present. Choose this option also if you are unsure about committing yourself to a full scuba course at this stage.
Although most of our advertised dates are at weekends, we can also offer midweek courses, thanks to our excellent facilities, where everything is either on site or nearby to facilitate your training:

Everything is provided in the cost - course materials, equipment, air, pool and open water site entrance fees. All you need is your swimming costume and we will provide the rest. There’s no travelling to pools and classrooms for endless weeks of training, or getting up at the crack of dawn to travel hundreds of miles to crowded inland dive sites, or have your sea dives cancelled through bad weather. Everything is tailored to you – our student.
